Girls' Education News, Events and Updates

At SaGG Foundation, we focus on placing girls in The Gambia on the path to success through education. We are a non-profit organisation that seeks to sustainably empower girls through education.

Past Events:
Open Table Girls' Mentorship Forum

Mentoring girls can help girls reach their full potential in education and career development. Through this Open Table discussion, we were be able to dive into detail about the impacts mentorship had on successful women and how they have dealt with hurdles in their career as well as their personal life.

Our theme was to empower girls by having inspirational women from different fields speaking about their experiences in mentorship and how this affected their career development. This gave the girls an opportunity to ask questions openly to guide and plan their future. The event was held on Friday 26th August 2022 in The Gambia.

Girls During The Event

Our other event took place in The Gambia, celebrating the International Day of The Girl Child. The recent event focused on the protection and wellbeing of girls. The aim was to raise awareness on:

  • Menstrual health and hygiene
  • Understanding of the female reproductive system
  • Preventive measures to avoid sexual harassment, molestation, and rape.

The event was hosted by Sainey M. Ceesay founder of the Safe Haven Foundation, and Phebian Ina Grant Principal Health Research Officer Ministry of Health The Gambia.
